The Sharjah Institute for Heritage celebrated the shipbuilding in the Emirati heritage, in the 44th issue of the “Marawad” magazine, which was recently issued by the institute, including various topics revolving in the astronomy of heritage, including those related to artistic heritage, popular beliefs, or Nabati poetry, some of which are studies and readings that dive into In the depths of the Arab heritage.

The Institute’s President and Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Musallam said: “The heritage shipbuilding is one of the authentic men’s marine crafts in the UAE heritage, engraved in memory, and reflects continuous centuries of maritime history, and the Emiratis’ relationship with the sea that originated long ago, and was manifested in what They left behind a rich and rich maritime heritage, whether it was linked to trade relations with the ancient world, pearl diving trips, fishing, and other aspects that reflect the nature of that exceptional relationship.”

He added, "In this issue (of the magazine), a beautiful tour of the worlds of our ancient maritime heritage, by dedicating a file to shipbuilding in the Emirati heritage, to get acquainted with all its elements, and to know the historical role witnessed by this craft, and its role in the economic and social life in the past, through A selection of rich topics.

For his part, Director of the Content and Publishing Department and Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Mona Bounaama, shed light on the heritage crafts and their importance and role in the social and economic life in the ancient Emirates, especially the craft of making heritage ships.
