Man dies after trying to shoot firecrackers over his head

A 43-year-old man from San Antonio, Texas, has died after trying to set fireworks off his head amid the Fourth of July Independence Day celebrations in the United States of America.

According to the Houston Chronicle, the Bexar County medical examiner confirmed the death of Pablo Ruiz of San Antonio, attributing his death to head injuries sustained during a fireworks explosion on July 5.

Ruiz was drinking with his friends when he decided to ignite a "mortar" firework from the top of his head.

According to the police report, the firework exploded from below and penetrated his head.

When the authorities arrived at the scene, Ruiz was unconscious and suffered severe head trauma.

His death was announced at the scene of the accident.

The news came shortly after it was reported that an 11-year-old boy from Indiana had been killed in a fireworks-related accident.

According to an Indiana State Police press release, officers responded to calls on Monday that 11-year-old Camryn Ray McMichael was seriously injured in a fireworks-related accident.

He was pronounced dead on the way to the hospital.

"I'll never see my son again during the damn fireworks," the boy's mother, Kyra Lynn, commented in a Facebook post posted on Monday, adding, "Never think it can't happen to you."

In an interview with WXIN-TV, she described the accident that caused his death as a "tragic strange accident", and said he "died as a boy playing with fireworks."
