[Explanation] The high-level forum on the opening up of Guangxi education in the new era and the education research of international students in China was held at Guangxi University for Nationalities on July 8. Many experts at home and abroad conducted online and offline discussions on improving the quality and efficiency of education for international students in the post-epidemic era.

Experts believe that the use of new technologies for teaching, improving recruitment and training can effectively supply international and professional talents to the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) economic circle.

[Explanation] Guangxi is geographically close to ASEAN countries, and they are closely related to each other. They are the frontier and window of China's opening up and cooperation with ASEAN.

In recent years, Guangxi has actively integrated into the “Belt and Road” construction and continuously deepened international educational exchanges and cooperation. Guangxi will take the construction of the China-ASEAN Education Open Cooperation Pilot Zone as an opportunity to build an educational cooperation highland for ASEAN.

Our Guangxi is the destination for ASEAN students to study abroad, and it is also one of the provinces and regions that we (China) recruit the most students from ASEAN countries.

On June 30, a few days ago, it was particularly emphasized at the foreign affairs work conference of colleges and universities in the region that one is to do a good job in the implementation of the plan for opening up education to the outside world; In running a school, the fourth is to focus on the regulation and training of RCEP, and the fifth is to focus on vocational education cooperation with ASEAN.

[Explanation] ASEAN is China's largest trading partner in 2021. With the deepening of RCEP cooperation, the investment projects of Chinese enterprises in each member state are increasing day by day.

However, in the investment country, there is also a shortage of suitable local workers, and Chinese workers have to be hired at high salaries.

RCEP member countries have a huge demand for international and professional talents. In the post-epidemic era, embracing and using new technologies to cultivate international students has become a problem that universities in China must face.

The new crown epidemic has accelerated the arrival of the era of smart teaching, and it has made various Internet-based "cloud classrooms", "cloud conferences", "cloud tourism" and "cloud cooperation" popular.

For studying abroad in China, online teaching and online management have become the norm.

As educators studying in China, we must overcome the fear of difficulties, we must actively embrace technology and continue to learn, so that technology can empower our education and teaching.

We must soberly realize that once intelligence is turned on, we will never go back to the past.

Even if international students return to offline teaching after returning, the great convenience brought by smart classrooms will surely become the demands of students.

If teachers' teaching methods are not updated accordingly, they will definitely fall behind the times.

[Explanation] The strong demand for talents promotes the continuous growth of the group of foreign students in China, and the brand awareness of "Study in Guangxi" is expanding.

In the past ten years, except for 2012 and 2021, the number of international students who came to study in Guangxi exceeded 10,000 each year. Among them, the number of ASEAN students who came to study in Guangxi in 2019 exceeded 10,000 for the first time.

Experts and scholars have also offered suggestions on how to improve the quality of training while the number of international students grows.

RCEP countries have also taken measures to develop their economies. With the development of their economies, the number of these countries studying in Guizhou will also increase.

You can try to train international students in a customized way with companies. Guangxi University has made some attempts, and I think it is still very good.

We signed a customized international student training agreement with China Southern Power Grid. With the expense of China Southern Power Grid, we train 10 international graduate students every year. After graduation, these graduate students will return to the local engineering project department of China Southern Power Grid to work. I think the model is very good. The company will provide the funds and the school will cultivate it. We call it customized training or order-based training.

It should be said that the quality of teaching is the lifeline of strengthening education in China. We must ensure that the quality of education for our international students in China is effectively guaranteed.

In addition, we should strengthen the Guangxi government's ASEAN countries scholarship enrollment and management, strengthen the construction of some branded professional courses, especially colleges and universities should actively develop characteristic and advantageous courses, and at the same time strengthen the education of international students on China's national conditions, laws and regulations, and improve the quality of higher education for international students in China. Certification work.
