Sometimes humans become animals.

But vice versa, one can always see how many human traits there are in all the creatures on our planet.

In photography, many artists have worked to find comparisons between humans and their animals or to uncover the special characteristics of their relationship as pets.

Even when studying photography, it is always a welcome finger exercise to dedicate a photo reportage to the small animal breeders' association in the respective city.

As a long-standing FAZ editorial photographer, Frank Röth has traveled to many countries.

Incidentally, he always has people

in the cityscape

photographed.

And quite casually, animals appear again and again in his pictures.

Sometimes as an accessory, sometimes literally as a workhorse and sometimes they almost seem like self-evident accessories that are not given much attention.

It is only through the focus chosen by Röth that the bizarreness of such a scene is revealed.

In Tolgliatti, Russia, a dog is waiting for the bus with a man and a child.

You can't tell who it belongs to from the photo, but it almost looks like it also has a destination on its journey.

And in

Frankfurt Gallus district

a dog seems rather grumpy, maybe

because the mistress "once again" talked hard.

The fact that horses are also thirsty in Moscow is obvious, that they almost naturally stand in a group of people at a bar, but it is surprising.

At this point, we don't want to go into detail about how a typical day went for Moshammer's Daisy at a social event in Berlin.

But you can certainly read about this in the book Confessions of a Dog

Lady, written by Rudolph Moshammer

, in case you are not sure after looking at the photo who is actually the focus here.
