The accomplice of the late Jeffrey Epstein sex offender, Ghislaine Maxwell, refuses to accept her 20-year sentence.

According to court documents released on Thursday, the British woman's lawyers have appealed.

The court documents do not state the arguments for the appeal motion.

Maxwell's lawyers had previously spoken of a possibly biased jury, which is why the process had to be reopened.

Girls recruited for abuse

Maxwell was sentenced to 20 years in prison at the end of June.

According to the court, as Epstein's confidant and ex-girlfriend, she had recruited young girls for sexual abuse by the well-connected US financial investor for years.

Some girls were also passed on to other men.

During the trial, several victims had reported being drawn into the perfidious Maxwell/Epstein system between the ages of 14 and 17.
