The barber shop in the picture is located in Yunhe Building, Changhu Community, Shouyi Road Street, Wuhan City. The six barbers, including the owner Ye Xueqing, are deaf and mute.

  [Explanation] The reporter came to this barber shop on July 6. There was no music inside or outside the shop. The barber would smile and reach out to guide the customer to sit down, and skillfully took out the cardboard or mobile phone, and communicated with the customer about hair cutting requirements by text. It is the skillful and quiet service.

  When it is difficult for customers to (express), they can communicate directly by typing, and send photos to the hairdresser for any desired hairstyles, which can meet the requirements of (customers).

  [Explanation] The owner, Ye Xueqing, is 43 years old and a girl from Wuhan. When she was 2 and a half years old, she lost her hearing permanently due to high fever.

In 2019, Ye Xueqing and 5 other deaf people who love hairdressing jointly opened a "silent barber shop" on Xudong Street, Wuhan.

In September 2021, the barbershop moved from Xudong Street to the current Shouyi Road Street.

Even so, old customers will still make an appointment in the WeChat group and arrive as scheduled.

  I used to live in Xudong (haircut), and I lived there in Qingshan. I used to be there (haircut), and I am a regular customer, so I came here again.

  [Explanation] In the store, Wang Zhuochao is always busier than others.

Because he is the technical director and the only clerk who can communicate with able-bodied customers with the help of hearing aids, his communication skills can come in handy when encountering some customers with special requirements.

Wang Zhuochao said that although there are certain difficulties in communication, it does not affect the craftsmanship of the barbers at all, and many old customers will send them small gifts to express their gratitude.

  Customers cut their hair and felt that our service was very good, and then gave us (delivery) food and drink, milk, etc., many kinds of rice (things), thank us very much, we are very moved (thankful) to customers.

  [Commentary] Ye Xuejing told reporters by typing that since its opening, "Silent Hair Salon" has received help and support from many people.

Over the years, she and the clerks have gone into the community and welfare homes in their spare time to provide voluntary caring services.

During the epidemic prevention and control period in 2020, Ye Xueqing and her employees went deep into multiple communities in Wuhan to voluntarily cut hair for hundreds of residents.

Ye Xueqing said that she hopes to use her own way to convey love and beauty.
