Zabala de la Serna

said yesterday

that 1,088 days have passed since the last Sanfermines.

I'm not going to discuss it, I'm sure he and the calendar are right, but time is very relative.

For some of us it has become eternal, it has turned us into

Sisyphus

with a heavy load to drag in this millennium of days.

For others, however, it seems that the years have been a breeze, like in tango, like on vacation, and it hasn't made them lose their place in the street, in front of the bull, among the pythons.

The first bull run of San Fermín 2022

has been atypical for many reasons.

From the outset, the pace of the herd in

Santo Domingo

, the slope that opens the route, has been lower than usual.

With two or three halters at all times opening the group, with those of

Núñez del Cuvillo

well wrapped up and twinned, without causing problems or launching defeats.

Some of the runners have even had time to show off, such as a waiter at the entrance to the Plaza del Ayuntamiento with

his finger raised in a gesture of homage.

San Fermin

Chupinazo.

The route of the running of the bulls of San Fermín, in detail

Without excessive speed, the herd has marched compactly through Mercaderes to the Estafeta curve, where the bulls have staged a tremendous blow against the fence, with a young man imprisoned.

In Estafeta, it has not been an ordinary race either.

The two halters that opened the herd have opened to the right and have even launched several defeats, feints of onslaught, to those who were ahead.

This gave the usual runners of this section the opportunity to catch a bull.

First, the black cape of

Núñez del Cuvillo,

with real races: young people with their hands glued to their heads and tempering the race.

With violence, with pushes and squeezes, but with races that you don't see every day.

The herd has opened up a bit in this section, with gaps for the young men to take advantage of the two groups to get between the wide antlers of the cuvillos.

In the Telefónica fence, the halters have once again distributed firewood, with real attacks on the right side and defeats with which they seemed to be looking for the runners, just like at the entrance to the alley.

Right at the entrance to the alley there have been two piles at the beginning of the arrival of the herd.

The access has not collapsed, but several corridors have been trampled by the morlacos, who have not stopped with them.

Finally, more than two minutes and 20 seconds that have left three transfers to the Navarra Hospital: a broken arm and two bruises, according to the first Red Cross report.
