It's a small revolution that has just been announced internally at France 3. Two major news events, "12/13" and "19/20" will disappear from the start of the 2023 school year. announcement was made by Delphine Ernotte on Tuesday during a central social and economic committee (CSE).

This is a new step in the regionalization of the France 3 channel. From September 2023, the JTs of Carole Gaessler and Émilie Tran Nguyen will give way to 24 regional editions.

In their place will be local presenters.

The newspapers will also be renamed

Ici midi

and

Ici Soir

Better differentiate the newspapers of France 2 from those of France 3

They will be produced by the regional branches.

They will produce local topics.

And, as far as national and international subjects are concerned, they will draw from a kind of common pot of the national editorial staff.

The idea is to better differentiate the newspapers of France 2 from those of France 3. On France 2, we do national, on France 3, local.

The group's management presented this new project internally and the announcement went badly.

The National Union of Journalists of France Télévisions issued a press release to denounce an "ultimate betrayal".

What a betrayal from @DelphineErnotte!

Under cover of a low cost regionalization, it removes the #journals#nationals of @france3tv!
