Borussia Dortmund have found a replacement for Erling Haaland, the Norwegian superstar who left for Manchester City for around sixty million euros.

It is an attacker with a different profile: Sébastien Haller.

The latter is committed until 2026.

The great center-forward leaves Ajax Amsterdam for a German Championship (Bundesliga) which he knows well.

The Ivorian, who has just celebrated his 28th birthday, had indeed worn the colors of Eintracht Frankfurt from 2017 to 2019, before leaving for West Ham (2019-2021), then finding with Ajax a Dutch Championship (Eredivisie) which he had attended from 2015 to 2017 with FC Utrecht.

We are very happy to be able to sign Sébastien Haller

," said Dortmund's new sporting director Sebastian Kehl.

He is "

an experienced centre-forward who has recently stood out in the Champions League, but who also knows the Bundesliga well and has already demonstrated his class and finishing qualities there

 ".

Break Bayern Munich's hegemony

Twice crowned in the Eredivisie, the native of the Paris region scored 47 goals in 65 appearances in all competitions with Ajax and especially distinguished himself in the Champions League.

During the previous exercise, Sébastien Haller thus scored 11 goals in 8 matches.

He has also broken several C1 records, becoming for example the first player to score for seven matches in a row.

Sébastien Haller will try to help Borussia break the hegemony of Bayern Munich, which has lasted for ten years.

Will his arrival be Dortmund's response to that of Sadio Mané with the Bavarians?

Ajax said they would receive 31 million euros for this transfer.

Compensation which could still amount to 34.5 million euros.
