An open dialogue between Dubai Culture and the creators of Al Quoz

Stemming from its keenness to enhance channels of information sharing with members of the creative community in the emirate, and to create an effective dialogue with them, the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) organized an open day at Alserkal Avenue in Al Quoz;

To provide creators with an overview of the developments of the Al Quoz Creative District development project, as well as to involve them in developing its future plans, in a way that supports the growth and prosperity of their businesses.

The meeting, which was moderated by Hala Badri, Director General of Dubai Culture, was attended by representatives of the Roads and Transport Authority, Dubai Police, Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, Dubai Municipality, Dubai Government Media Office, Dubai Digital Authority, and wasl Asset Management Group, as well as representatives of the authority's partners.

The meeting also witnessed the presence of a group of innovators and creative entrepreneurs who base their businesses in Dubai and aspire to expand and develop it.

Hala Badri said that this meeting is part of a series of meetings through which Dubai Culture and its partners in implementing the project seek to provide a platform for dialogue with members of the creative community, and to exchange opinions and ideas with them, to continue the process of empowering them and supporting their work in all possible ways.

She added: "Last year, we met a group of innovators and entrepreneurs, learned about the challenges facing creative businesses in Dubai, specifically in Al Quoz, and listened to their ideas on how to advance the region to meet their aspirations, and over the past year we designed solutions that will contribute to achieving this.

Today, we gather to inform them of the latest developments in the progress we have made in the project, and to listen to their views and needs, in order to be partners in our future steps, thus contributing to the further success of their projects.”

Based on the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to make Dubai the capital of the creative economy by 2025, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, launched in April 2021, a project to develop Al Quoz Creative District to establish an integrated creative complex that meets the requirements of creative people from all over the world.

His Highness directed the formation of a committee headed by Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of "Dubai Culture" and member of the Dubai Council, to manage the project and supervise its implementation with partners in an optimal manner.

Optimism about the future

Innovators participating in the open meeting expressed their happiness with the Al Quoz Creative District development project, and their optimism for a prosperous future for creative businesses in the emirate.

Plastic artist Rabab Tantawi praised the efforts of "Dubai Culture" and its partners, noting that it provides great facilities that enable creators, help them focus in developing their businesses and talents, and make Dubai a real incubator for creators.

As for the artist Patricia Mills, who has lived in Dubai for 40 years, she said that "Dubai Culture" and its partners "give talents and creators a wonderful place to establish their projects, and contribute to making Dubai the capital of the creative economy in the world."

While the artist Afshin saw that Dubai is "the right place for all talents and creators from around the world", and that the new trends would help artists know the right path to build their projects and achieve their dreams.
