If the media coverage of women's sport is progressing, it only represented 20% of sports broadcasts on French screens in 2021. Certain events such as the Women's Football Euro, which begins on July 6, 2022, are more followed.

To change the representations of the general public and anchor the practice of sport among girls, it would be necessary to invest in a more recurrent media coverage of sport but also to improve the place of women in the governing bodies of sport and sports supervision.

Sports jobs are still too often reserved for men.

For example, in France, of the 36 Olympic federations, only two are headed by a woman.

Even more significantly, the number of female students in STAPS (sciences and techniques of physical and sports activities) is much lower than that of men since they represent less than 30% of the workforce.

A situation that contributes to the maintenance of inequalities in sports professions.
