It hosts one of the largest Algerian communities in France.

Often nicknamed the 59th wilaya of Algeria, Marseille is a buffer zone with its neighbor to the south.

These old links are maintained by the incessant comings and goings of the diaspora, but also the arrival of many young people crossing the Mediterranean illegally.

Meeting with these Algerians who tell their life in Marseille and the unique relationship that the city has with Algeria which is celebrating its 60 years of independence.
