Is R. Kelly suicidal?
This question is at the heart of the new complaint from the singer's lawyer, who claims that his conditions of detention are illegal and inhumane.
The artist, sentenced to 30 years in prison for racketeering and sex trafficking, was placed in solitary confinement to be on permanent suicide watch.
A scandal, according to Jennifer Bonjean, who represents the R&B star.
“My partner and I spoke with Mr. Kelly after his sentencing.
He said he was mentally fine, behaving appropriately and looking forward to continuing his appeal.
He worried that even if he was NOT suicidal, (the Metropolitan Detention Center) would place him under medical supervision.
We are in the process of filing a lawsuit with the courts,” she said in an interview for E!
News.

He is a sex offender sentenced to spend the next three decades in prison,” the document reads.
