In his interview with the "Beyond the News" program (7/2022), he said that there is no indication of a national dialogue in light of the presence of 500 blocked websites in Egypt, and more than 60,000 political detainees in Egyptian prisons, as well as thousands of Egyptian elites who cannot Return to their country, considering that the dialogue is with the different group and not with those who agree with the ruling authority in the political vision.

Al-Sisi had stated that he called for a national dialogue with everyone except for one faction, hinting that he was in charge of the state before the third of July 2013, in reference to the Muslim Brotherhood, and added that there is no common ground in the dialogue with this faction.

Sultan went on to say that the goal behind this dialogue is to try to save a regime that has exhausted every opportunity to prove its worth, because it needs a popular partnership through which it restores a popular mass that supports it in the face of the bloc represented by a number of Islamic currents.

political post

On the other hand, Magdi Shendi, editor-in-chief of the weekly newspaper "Al-Mashhad", said that the goal of the dialogue is to create a state of political participation and participation in the general administration of the state in its various aspects, and not be limited to one current represented in the authority, which was acting without involving the rest of the political currents.

He added that this dialogue also aims to revive the role of political parties and unions, by hearing the other opinion, considering that the ruling authority realized that singling out the political decision is not the best option, and that there are other opinions worthy of listening and discussion.

Shendi accused the Brotherhood of burning all bridges and killing the extension of the idea of dialogue, considering that it has been working since 2013 on the goal of overthrowing the legitimacy of the existing regime, and therefore there is no room for dialogue with it because it considers it a coup.

It is noteworthy that Sisi said that one of the reasons for his refusal to involve those responsible for what he called the pre-July 3rd regime in the national dialogue is that if they had won by force and killing at the time, they would not have agreed to involve him in any dialogue, as he put it.
