Opponents of the felling of the ten chestnut trees felled to allow the redevelopment of a square in Meaux (Seine-et-Marne) organized a ceremony in tribute to the trees.

Dressed in dark, the inhabitants sang then went to the square George Brassens, place of felling of trees.
In procession, carrying a trunk draped in black, the participants then marched through the aisles of a market in Meaux, notably chanting slogans calling for the resignation of the mayor.

The protesters ended their happening with a minute of silence.
The trees had been felled the day before after a standoff between their defenders, including members of GNSA Meaux, and the town.
