Naira Ashraf's family's lawyer: "We will only be satisfied when we see his neck hanging from the noose."

Khaled Abdel Rahman, the lawyer for the family of Naira Ashraf, the late Mansoura student, commented on the news about volunteers collecting a “blood money” of 5 million pounds, in order to present it to the victim's family in exchange for a pardon for her killer.

In press statements, the lawyer confirmed, commenting on the recent rumors that some volunteers collected "blood money" in order to present it to the victim's family in exchange for a pardon for the killer, Muhammad Adel, that it was "completely rejected by the family."

Abdul Rahman indicated that he "applyed for the right to a civil claim, because compensation is different from blood money."

He added: "The people of Naira Ashraf reject anything other than retribution only, an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth," stressing that "what is rumored about accepting money are just rumors, and God is with his family."

He continued: "Collecting this blood money is a fraud, and even if we take the blood money, we cannot give up, because there is no waiver in criminal matters, and the case is not a case of bright people, but this is a case of society, and we will not rest in peace except when we see his neck spoiled by the gallows."

The head of the Mansoura Criminal Court, Counselor Bahaa El-Din Al-Marri, had decided to refer the papers of the accused of killing the Mansoura student, Naira Ashraf, to the Mufti of the Republic, and the July 6 session was set to pronounce the verdict.
