Major Ahmed Hussain Al Kathiri of Abu Dhabi Police successfully passed the second stage of the Planet Race series hosted by Georgia from June 17 to 25, and was organized for seven consecutive days, in six stages, with the participation of 42 runners and volunteers from 26 countries.

Major Al Kathiri said that "the race was characterized by great danger, and facing the challenge, through heights, wind, cold and running in mud and swamps, due to heavy rain," explaining that the Planet Race is a series of races organized in five different continents, the distance of each race is 250 km, and the total of the two races The two of them finished 500 km, and he has 750 km left.

Major Al Kathiri won second place in the coldest marathon in the world during his last participation this year in Siberia, when the temperature reached minus 54, as the first Arab participation in this race.

Major Ahmed Al Kathiri is the first Emirati runner to finish the Moroccan Sand Ultra Marathon, which was organized in 2019 in the Moroccan desert, and it is one of the most difficult competitions in the world. He specialized in ultra marathons, and his wish was fulfilled as the first Emirati runner to participate in the race, after he conducted daily training in preparation for the race.
