The expert in United Nations affairs, Dr. Abdel Hamid Siam, focused on the need to appoint a national salvation government whose main task would be to prepare for the upcoming elections, and it is likely that a meeting of the three parties, the House of Representatives, the Supreme Council of State and the Presidential Council, will be held to find the new formula.

In his speech to an episode of "Beyond the News" program, Siam presented a diagnosis of the Libyan crisis, and said that it had reached a dead end, as evidenced by the holding of 3 rounds of the joint committee of the House of Representatives and the Supreme Council of State related to the Libyan constitutional path. without reaching any agreement.

It is noteworthy that about 10 days ago, the sessions of the third and final round of discussions of the Libyan Constitutional Track Committee began in Egypt to agree on a constitutional basis for holding elections "as soon as possible" under the auspices of the United Nations.

And regarding the invitation of Stephanie Williams, Adviser to the Secretary-General of the United Nations on Libya, to the presidency of the Councils of State and the Libyan House of Representatives to meet within 10 days to overcome the outstanding points on issues of contention, the Libyan expert played down the importance of this call, noting that it is Williams' mission that may end within 10 days.

Siam also stressed that the differences regarding the Libyan crisis are not only among the Libyans, but that there is a division at the level of the UN body and at the level of regional countries influencing the file, revealing the ongoing division regarding the next UN envoy to Libya, where the United States and Europe want Germany, while the group insists African to be from the African continent.

Internal and external contradictions

For his part, the Director of the Libyan Center for Research and Development, Sanusi Bisikri, stressed the need to choose a political component that is different from the national unity government led by Abdel Hamid Dabaiba and Fathi Bashagha, who, last March, was sworn in as the new head of government in front of the parliament in its eastern part of the country. The goal of the new component is to focus on the issue of elections.

Bisikri described the current situation in Libya as very complex and contains many contradictions, but contradictions also exist at the regional and international levels, expressing regret that the external factor has become influential on the positions of the conflicting parties in Libya.

It is noteworthy that the Prime Minister-designate of the Libyan House of Representatives, Bashagha, had called - in an open letter to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres - to stop dealing with the government of national unity as being expired, and pledged to hold elections as soon as possible.

While the director of the Libyan Center for Research and Development indicated that the current situation may lead to boiling, the expert in United Nations affairs said that the Libyan people do not want the return of armed confrontations and prefer dialogue, as well as the United Nations, the Security Council and other parties, stressing that Bashagha’s statement to the Security Council in it. A kind of threat, but the UN organization - the spokesman adds - will deal with all parties in order to reach a consensus.
