The arrest of a man wanted with an arrest warrant created scenes in Nuremberg that were ready for film.

When police officers had the door to the 34-year-old's apartment opened by a locksmith, the man fled through a small window onto the roof of the apartment building on Saturday morning.

As a police spokeswoman said, he then tried to avoid arrest by jumping onto other roofs.

The fire brigade set up a jumping sheet because the 34-year-old man kept threatening to slip.

In order not to lose sight of the man, the police officers climbed onto a rotary fire brigade ladder.

After about an hour the man gave up.

He was unharmed and was imprisoned.

The police spokeswoman did not want to say why exactly the man was wanted with an arrest warrant.

But he could have avoided his arrest by paying a sum of money, she explained.
