The QR code to the rescue of forgotten luggage.

The SNCF will offer this summer on certain TGVs a new label including the famous code to more easily find stunned travelers.

Train passengers will be asked to scan the QR code with their smartphone to enter their details.

Only SNCF agents will be able to retrieve this information in the event of abandoned luggage, the company said on Thursday.

The device, deployed from this Saturday on the Atlantic and South-East TGV axes, is intended to fight against the scourge of abandoned luggage.

This is indeed the leading cause of delays for TGVs and Intercités with 620,000 minutes lost in 2021, according to SNCF figures.
