The fact of "discovering a giant sea in the Anbar desert" in Iraq

Users of social networking sites in Iraq circulated a video clip showing the flow of water from the ground, noting that it was due to "the discovery of a giant sea in the interior of the Anbar desert" that will end the "problem of desertification and drought" in the country.

However, this is not true because the video clip is old and has nothing to do with Iraq, rather it is in Saudi Arabia, according to what was confirmed by the "Technology for Peace" website, which is concerned with following up and exposing fake news.

The site indicated that the video, which received thousands of views and was widely circulated by users in Iraq, was old and had previously been published on the first of last April by an account on “Tik Tok” with the name “alaasy133”, and that it was due to clean an artesian water well in Saudi Arabia.

The publication of the clip came at a time when Iraq was going through a severe dry crisis with a decline in rainfall rates, until Iraq became the "fifth country in the world" most affected by climate change, according to the United Nations.
