The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry has revised its outlook for electricity supply and demand after July.

Within the power jurisdiction of the whole country except Hokkaido and Okinawa, the "reserve rate", which indicates the surplus power supply capacity, is 3.7%, which exceeds the minimum required 3% for stable supply, but the supply and demand situation is still severe. ..

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry revised its outlook for summer electricity supply and demand from July to September at a council meeting held on the 30th.

According to this, assuming the severe heat of once every 10 years, the reserve margin for July is expected to be 3.7% within the power jurisdiction of Tohoku, Tokyo, Chubu, Hokuriku, Kansai, China, Shikoku, and Kyushu.

In order to strengthen the supply capacity this summer, the government has instructed the electric power company to restart the thermal power plants, which has improved by 0.6% compared to the previous forecast in Tohoku, Tokyo and Chubu.

Although it exceeds the minimum required of 3% for stable supply, supply and demand are still in a difficult situation.

On the other hand, in the jurisdiction of Hokkaido and Okinawa, it is expected that a reserve margin of 10% or more can be secured from July to September.

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry has also provided an outlook for winter electricity supply and demand after December.

In Tohoku and Tokyo, next January will be 1.5% and February will be 1.6%, which is a severe situation below 3%.

In Chubu, Hokuriku, Kansai, China, Shikoku, and Kyushu, January was 1.9% and February was 3.4%.

For this reason, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry has indicated that it will take measures to instruct electric power companies to restart the suspended thermal power plants in order to avoid the tight supply and demand in winter.
