A "moderate" earthquake, measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale, occurred in Charente overnight from Wednesday to Thursday, the French Central Seismological Bureau announced Thursday in a statement in the early morning.
The epicenter of the earthquake that occurred at 3:26 a.m. was 20 km northeast of Angoulême and 53 km east of Cognac, according to data from the Detection and Geophysics Laboratory released by the Central Seismological Office.
