The revocation of the 1973 Roe v.

Wade by the Supreme Court of the United States gave the possibility to each American State to prohibit the voluntary termination of pregnancy.

A decision against which Meghan Markle, among others, intends to fight for several reasons that she detailed during a cross interview with feminist journalist Gloria Steinem.

And it is a fight that cannot be fought without men.

In this interview conducted by political journalist Jessica Yellin for Vogue, they explained why "men need to speak up" when women's rights are under attack.

“These are decisions that affect relationships, families and the wider community.

It is women who are targeted, but the consequences impact us all,” said Meghan Markle.

A question of society

The Duchess of Sussex said her reaction to the US Supreme Court's decision was "guttural" just like Prince Harry's.

“My husband and I have been talking about it for the past few days.

He is also a feminist.

(…) I know that for so many women right now, there is a feeling of despair.

But, again, we have to move forward together and not feel sorry for each other, ”adds Archie and Lilibet’s mother.

True to her convictions, Meghan Markle also recalled that this fight was "a question of economic justice, individual autonomy and who we are as a society".

And to insist on the importance of "having the choice" and not of being "forced to make a decision that you do not want or is dangerous, or put your health at risk".

“This moment calls for unity, to really listen to people and to understand that the Constitution was written at a time when women were second-class citizens.

We are not.

Some things have to change, ”concludes Meghan Markle.
