From September 1, the most polluting vehicles (crit'air 4, 5 and unclassified) will no longer be able to circulate in the twelve constituent municipalities of the new low-emissions zone (ZFE) of the Rouen conurbation (Seine-Maritime ).

The department has announced that financial support of a maximum of 4,000 euros will be put in place from October 2022, reports France 3 Normandy.

A total budget of 500,000 euros

The objective is to help the less well-off inhabitants to acquire an electric bicycle or a less polluting car.

Beneficiaries must provide proof of employment in the ZFE and annual tax income not exceeding 20,000 euros per unit.

An envelope of 500,000 euros is devoted to this system, which can be combined with other aid.

The approximately 1,600 eligible people will, for example, still be able to benefit from financial aid from the Métropole to change vehicles, from the Vélo 76 bonus to acquire an electric bike or even state aid.

The accumulation may not, however, exceed 80% of the amount of the purchase of the new vehicle or the modification of the old one.
