The artist reveals there that he has a half-brother, born of an extramarital relationship of his father Bob.
The rock star does not give the first name of this little brother (he also has a big brother, Norman, eight years his senior).
“I have another brother that I love and adore, but I didn't know I had him, or maybe I did.
We are a very close family and I knew that my father had a deep friendship with this beautiful woman who is part of the family, then they had a child and it was all kept secret, ”he confided.

In the interview, recorded as the singer is about to publish his autobiography, Bono explains that he only learned of the situation in 2000, a year before his father died.
When he discussed this adventure with him, Bob Hewson explained to his son Paul – Bono's real first name – what it was all about.
"I asked him if he loved my mum and he said 'yes' and I said 'how could this have happened?'
He replied "It happens" and that he was trying to fix things, to do the right thing.
He didn't apologize, he just said these are the facts,” the star added.
Bono's mother, Iris, who died in 1974, never learned of this extramarital affair, but when Bob Hewson died, the artist understood his father's behavior a little better at certain periods of his life.
“Nobody knew.
My father was obviously going through a lot, but his head was partly elsewhere because his heart was elsewhere (…) After his death, I presented my apologies to him in a chapel in France.
There was nobody there, I lit a candle, I knelt down and I said: "I am sorry that I was not there for you, you suffered a lot and I ask you to forgive me", and I felt free,” added Bono, who likes to vacation in Provence.
