A house of the Marthe et Marie association was inaugurated in Rouen (Seine-Maritime) on Monday.

It had opened its doors at the end of 2021 in the city center, in a location kept secret.

The association helps pregnant women in difficulty by offering them a place to live from the start of pregnancy until the first birthday of the child, indicates France 3 Normandy.

Eight roommates

They are then helped in their professional integration.

Four future mothers live with four other young women aged 25 to 35 who are not pregnant.

The latter undertake to live there but can continue their professional activity.

“The volunteers […] will live with the mothers to bring them their friendship”, explains the association.

An employee is also present.

The house looks like a classic dwelling.

It has eight bedrooms, three bathrooms, a kitchen, a living room, an office and a garden.

Two places are currently available for future mothers and one or two volunteers are being sought from September.
