Naguib Sawiris expressed his objection to the decision of the head of the Egyptian Musicians Syndicate, Hani Shaker, to ban 19 festival singers from singing, and stressed that "everyone is free to hear whatever songs they want," considering that Shaker's behavior is a "psychosis", as he described it.

On Monday, Hani Shaker announced his resignation from his position as the captain of the musical professions, stressing that his decision was irreversible.

Hani Shaker announced his decision during a telephone interview with the “Al-Hekaya” program on the “MBC Egypt” satellite channel, expressing his regret and sadness for what happened during the conference held at the union’s headquarters on Monday, to present festivals singer Hassan Shakoush with an apology to the Syndicate of Musical Professions and percussionists.

Hani Shaker said: "Today is my last day as a captain of musicians, and I thank all of the Syndicate's board of directors... and my decision is irreversible."

Hani Shaker called on the general assembly of the union to choose the best for the position of captain.
