An Iraqi student shoots two of his university professors... for a strange reason!

A former student was arrested in Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan region of Iraq, on Tuesday, after he shot two university professors in response to his expulsion from the university, according to official sources.

In a statement, Erbil Governor Omid Khoshnaw said that the suspect attacked the house of a professor at the Faculty of Law at Soran University, but she was "not at home" and "attacked her husband (a professor at the Faculty of Engineering) and killed him inside the house."

According to the Dean of the College of Engineering, Najat Ahmed, the victim’s wife had filed a lawsuit against the offender student in the courts of the town of Soran, before committing the crime. Dr. Idris was alone in the house, so he killed him on the spot.

The statement of the governor of Erbil added that the student then went to the University of Salah al-Din compound, "and shot the Dean of the College of Law, Kawan Ismail, which led to his death and the wounding of an employee of the university," referring to the death of the dean after he was transferred to an emergency hospital in Erbil.

For its part, the Kurdistan police announced the arrest of the suspect, confirming that he had used a "pistol to carry out the attack."

The motive for the crime was the expulsion of this student for unknown reasons by the law professor (whose husband Khoshnaw was murdered), according to the governor's statement.

He added that the student then tried to enroll in the Faculty of Law at Salah al-Din University, but "Brigadier Kawan Ismail (his second victim) refused to register him," which prompted him to "threat Mr. Ismail, after which he was arrested and released on bail."
