Hollywood in California is synonymous with the American film industry.

But the fact is that a very large part of the production takes place in the states that are expected to ban abortion after the country's highest court has decided that it is up to the states themselves to decide on the matter.

In 2019, both Netflix and Disney threatened to take employees and jobs with them from Georgia.

In Florida, a bill was stopped this year to give Disney, one of the state's largest employers, autonomy over a district after the company took a stand against the so-called Don't say gay law.

The law means that teachers are not allowed to teach questions about sexual orientation or gender identity.

To date, no major film or television company has threatened to relocate production or offices from states that are expected to ban abortion or severely curtail abortion rights.

However, Disney and Paramount, among others, have announced that they will reimburse the travel expenses of employees who want to go to another state to have an abortion.
