keep cool

Being able to enjoy perfectly tempered wine at home is becoming more important.

After all, many people got used to celebrating pleasure in their own four walls during the restaurant closures.

The outdoor kitchen trend does the rest, after all, nobody wants to do without the right drinking temperature on the terrace.

The demand is reflected in the number of exhibitors dedicated to the topic of table wine coolers.

If you want it as precise, chic and practical as possible, you will find several manufacturers of electrical devices.

The manufacturer PrioVino relies on the traditional shape of the wine cooler, with or without a foot.

But you don't have to deal with the procurement of ice cubes, dripping bottles and wines that are too cold.

It is cooled electrically, either with a power supply unit or with a battery, and the temperature can be set from five to 20 degrees.

The cheapest device costs about 390 euros.

The device from Caso offers less choice, but a square look that is detached from the classic wine cooler.

Here the bottle is at a slight angle, the temperature set between five and 18 degrees is clearly visible.

However, a socket must be nearby (about 120 euros).

With both manufacturers, however, the bottle should be inserted pre-cooled, maintaining the temperature is the main goal.

So don't throw away your classic ice water bucket: If you need to cool down quickly and drastically, this is in demand again.

However, if you want to reduce power consumption, you can also keep your wine cool with one of the oldest insulating materials in the world: sheepskin.

"Keep it cool with wool" is the slogan;

The animal containers are supposed to cool the wine for around four hours without any major deviation, says the Dutch founder of Kywie, who was a lawyer in her previous life.

The covers definitely look nice.

The version for a standard bottle costs about 70 euros, the prices vary depending on the type of fur, design and size.

With red wine you should perhaps tie a drip catcher around the neck of the bottle so that the fur does not get stained.

keep fresh

Refrigeration is also the best way to keep an opened bottle of wine drinkable for as long as possible.

So seal it up and put it in the fridge.

Anyone who has misplaced the cork, stowed away the bottle without dripping or simply wants to cause a stir can use a "wine condom".

The application is self-explanatory given the name. 12 pieces should cost 5.99 euros.

In order to extend the drinkability of unemptied bottles even further, the remaining contents must be protected from oxidation.

Paradoxically, wine air is the name of the product with which the air is to be shielded from the wine.

To do this, you press a spray can for a second: the inert gas argon is fed through a rubber hose into the opened bottle.

This is heavier than air and settles on the wine.

Argon itself is inert, so according to the manufacturer the wine should still be enjoyable after weeks.

In order not to enlarge the wine surface, we recommend storing it upright.

A spray can costs 6.99 euros and can be used for 15 applications.

It is said that the spray bottle should not be used on mature wines such as ten-year-old Riesling.
