The directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, to host the 28th session of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change “COP 28” in “Expo City Dubai”, the site of the most important international events last year “Expo 2020 Dubai” “Because it is an exceptional location and a distinguished destination that brought the world together on the land of the Emirates for six months.

The two events share efforts to achieve sustainability and promote international action, due to its importance in facing global challenges, while COP 28 is expected to witness the attendance of more than 45,000 participants daily, including heads of state and government.

The conference will focus on major themes, including implementing climate commitments and commitments, and working together to take concrete practical measures and practical solutions that contribute to overcoming challenges.

Not to mention that the hosting site has developed for the "Dubai Expo City", announced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to become a capital and a global center for innovation and creativity, and a model for future cities, while preserving the heritage of the UAE. And a civilized beacon that contributes to the progress of the region and the world.

The participation of His Highness, the President of the State, in the “Forum of Major Economies” on energy and climate change, and His Highness’s speech reflecting the prestigious international position and the UAE’s continuous contributions to strengthening international cooperation, His Highness affirmed that “the UAE is continuing its commitment to support climate action, and to enhance its contributions to reducing climate change.” Emissions.. We look forward to hosting the world at the #UAECOP28 Conference of Parties and making practical progress in facing the repercussions of climate change through concerted and complementary efforts.”

This noble message and unremitting efforts were reinforced by the fact that the UAE was the first country in the region to sign and ratify the “Paris Agreement,” and the first country in the region to commit to reducing emissions in all economic sectors, as well as the leadership’s interest in hosting high-level international events focusing on climate action and sustainable development. Consolidating the country's position as a destination for international environmental action, as evidenced by hosting the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA).

The field work coincided with passionate talk about protecting the environment, which is Zayed's approach among us, which is still beating on the generous land of the Emirates.

His Highness' visit to the International Center for Biosaline Agriculture, which is concerned with agricultural productivity in saline environments, coincided with World Environment Day, and its slogan "We only have one land", as a message being studied to alert the world about environmental challenges, and an announcement documenting the UAE's leading experiences in environmental sustainability, with a note His Highness for our participation in the "Expo Floriad 2022 in the Netherlands".

The most important lesson for the decision to host “COP 28” at the headquarters of “Expo 2020 Dubai” is the importance of integrating institutional work, investing and consolidating success, and taking the best success stories and building on them. Creativity out of thin air, and no development out of nothing.

Let us all preserve the "Expo legacy", and let us witness an institutional race to enhance this and achieve the aspirations and ambitions of the leadership.
