The Sharjah Government Communication Award called on the pioneers of environmental work in the Arab world to apply for its new category "Best Environmental Policies and Practices", which it launched during its ninth session, to share their successful and innovative experiences, noting that receiving nomination files for the new category will continue until July 14. Via the International Government Communication Center website.

The award is granted to programs and initiatives pursued by governmental, semi-governmental and private institutions, which rely on government communication methods and means in the face of climate change and its effects, adopting the best practices affecting the promotion of awareness of sustainability and confronting climate change, and establishing environmental protection partnerships that improve the quality of life of peoples and future generations. .

In evaluating the nominated files, the award focuses on the importance of adopting the nominated campaigns and programs for policies that prevent countries from being exposed to dangerous environmental damage, and relying on the concept of environmental protection within their legislation.

For his part, Director-General of the Sharjah Government Media Office, Tariq Alai, stressed that “sound environmental practices guarantee the future of peoples and countries that harness all their capabilities to achieve protection that guarantees human interaction with the components of the environment around him, and this necessitates the need to develop effective frameworks and policies towards this sector. The vitality, which is directly related to human life, and which is the basis on which all development processes that governments and institutions seek to improve the quality of life through.”

He added: “We are pleased to honor those efforts from all over the Arab world, which put environmental challenges on the list of their directions and policies, and formed through their environmentally friendly practices the boundaries of the industrial and technological revolution, which should be invested in achieving human well-being. During this category, to highlight the best practices that work to achieve a balance between the developments required for the accelerated stages of development, without prejudice to the natural resources on which our lives and the lives of future generations are based.”

The Sharjah Government Communication Award receives applications for nomination through the website www.igcc.ae, provided that the file includes an introductory video of the initiative, not exceeding five minutes, in addition to a file that explains the general idea of ​​the initiative, and includes the institution’s name and logo, the title of the report and the date of submission. In addition to the contents page, the initiative summary, with an explanation of the strategies, results, goals and action plans, according to the main themes that were identified for each category, with no more than 1,000 words, in Arabic for the categories of the Emirates and the Arab world.
