  The report stated that at about 15:00 on April 12, 2022, the Taibai Road Police Station of Beilin Branch of Xi'an Public Security Bureau received an alarm from the Information Construction and Management Office of Northwestern Polytechnical University, saying that the school's email system found a group of invitations for scientific research evaluation and defense. Phishing emails with the theme of going abroad and notification of going abroad, containing Trojan programs, lured some teachers and students to click on the link, and illegally obtained the login permissions of teachers and students' email addresses, resulting in the risk of related email data being stolen. Traces of cyber-attacks were also found.

The above behaviors of sending phishing emails and launching network attacks pose a major security threat to Northwestern Polytechnical University's on-campus information system and important data of teachers and students.
