This is a climatic phenomenon unique to the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River in China. During this period of time, people will feel the weather is stuffy and dull. It is hot and humid, and feels wet all day. This rainy season often occurs when the plums are ripe, so it is also called "Plum Rain".
