If living on the street is difficult, it becomes very dangerous when the mercury soars there.
France having just suffered an early heatwave episode, the Samu social has therefore set up exceptional maraudes to carry out prevention with homeless people.
"In times of hot weather, the homeless let their guard down"
“Here's a big bottle of water.
Remember to wet your neck, your hair”, advise two nurses from the Samu social to Parisian homeless people.
Océane justifies this increased vigilance: “During periods of extreme cold, there are many places to stay to get warm.
But in times of extreme heat, people let their guard down and find themselves in the sun, do not necessarily think about hydrating themselves, keep the clothes they wear in the middle of winter”.
His advice to prevent any drama: “If a person is lying on the ground, in direct sunlight, and they are covered up to their head, already check that they are breathing.
If she accepts the contact, invite her to get in the shade, offer her a drink.
And if you find her very drowsy, if she's unresponsive, call the fire department because that can be a big sign of dehydration."
