Big change in the Obamas.

The production company of the former American presidential couple did not renew its contract with Spotify, concluded in 2019. Michelle and Barack Obama preferred to sign at Audible with their production company Higher Ground.

A prospect that delights both the former First Lady, who hopes to "make sure to reach the people who need to hear" their stories, and Amazon's audio division, which intends to make its content "available to the widest audience possible.

Indeed, as noted by the

Hollywood Reporter

, the advantage of Audible over Spotify is that the content is not exclusive to the platform.

The streamer's original podcasts are of course available to subscribers, but some are also streamed on the other major streaming platforms.

Everything rolls

This new contract seems like the one signed with Spotify three years ago: that is to say (very) lucrative.

The American media is advancing a multi-million dollar deal to create exclusive podcasts.

This partnership is in addition to the one between Higher Ground and Netflix in 2018, again with many millions of dollars at stake.

The public has already been able to see some of their productions, such as

Gaufrette and Mochi

.

A comedy about the early days of the Trump administration has also been announced.

Finally, the couple also marked the world of publishing.

Each released their memoirs, with a joint contract estimated at $65 million.

Some companies are less familiar with the crisis.
