Twelve departments were on orange vigilance "storms" or "heat wave" Tuesday morning in the center-east of the country, according to forecasts from Météo France.

The heatwave episode was however attenuating in the center-east, but a new episode of violent storms was announced from Auvergne to the Jura.

Risks of thunderstorms were also strong in the Southwest later in the day.

60 departments on yellow alert

Beyond that, the storm risks extend over most regions, with around sixty departments on yellow “storm” vigilance, according to Météo France.

Minimum temperatures will range from 12 to 17 degrees north of the Loire, from 15 to 20 elsewhere, with peaks at 22 or 23 in Lyonnais or on the shores of the Mediterranean.

The maximum will vary between 20 and 25 degrees near the Channel and the Ocean, they will reach 30 to 35 degrees from Alsace to Rhône-Alpes, up to PACA and Corsica, they will be between 25 and 30 degrees everywhere somewhere else.
