China News Agency, Nanchang, June 21 (Reporter Wu Pengquan) The blue flood warning information released by the Poyang Lake Hydrology and Water Resources Monitoring Center of Jiangxi Province at 16:56 on the 21st showed that at 16:00 that day, the Poyang Lake, the largest freshwater lake in China, was an iconic landmark. The water level of the Xingzi Station of the hydrological station exceeded the warning level by 0.07 meters.

In the past few days, Jiangxi, a province in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River in China, has been hit by continuous heavy rainfall.

From 8:00 on the 17th to 6:00 on the 21st, the average rainfall in Jiangxi Province was 126.7 mm.

Among them, Jingdezhen City is 310.0 mm, Shangrao City is 277.7 mm, and the maximum rainfall is 682.5 mm at Xinwu Station in Wuyuan County.

Affected by the continuous heavy rainfall and the continuous increase in the flow of five rivers in Jiangxi, Gan, Fu, Xin, Rao and Xiu, the water level of Poyang Lake rose rapidly.

In addition, under the influence of heavy rainfall, 9 rivers and 16 stations in the middle and lower reaches of Xinjiang River, Le'an River, lower Changjiang River, lower Xiuhe River, and Ganjiang River's tributaries occurred over-alert floods at a maximum of 6.04 meters.

At present, Jiangxi has entered a critical period of flood control.

From 18:00 on the 18th to 20:00 on the 20th, the Jiangxi flood control emergency response was upgraded from level IV to level III, and then to level II.

Governor of Jiangxi Province Ye Jianchun presided over a meeting of the Jiangxi Provincial Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters on the evening of the 20th, saying that the riverside and lakeside areas in Jiangxi should attach great importance to the rapid rise in water levels in Wuheweilu and Poyang Lake, and the lengthening of the embankment line beyond the police polder will affect Poyang Lake. Focus on the impact of embankment security, and gather forces for key defense.

Jiangxi Hydrology Department predicts that in the next three days, the water level in the Poyang Lake area will continue to rise and a flood of about 0.4 meters may occur.

Poyang Lake, located in the northern part of Jiangxi Province and the south bank of the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, is the largest freshwater lake in China.
