Regarding the accident in which a sightseeing boat sank off the Shiretoko Peninsula in Hokkaido, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications revealed that the operating company "Shiretoko Tour Boat" had not obtained the necessary commercial radio license.

For this reason, the policy is to accuse the company and the president of the Japan Coast Guard on suspicion of violating the Radio Law.

This was revealed by Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications Kaneko at a press conference after the Cabinet meeting on the 21st.

As a result of an interview conducted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications with President Seiichi Katsura of the operating company "Shiretoko Tour Boat", it was found that he had not obtained the necessary commercial radio license.

And the company was using amateur radio instead of commercial radio without a license.

For this reason, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications plans to accuse the company and President Katsura of the Abashiri Maritime Security Office, which has jurisdiction over it, on suspicion of violating the Radio Law through the Hokkaido General Communications Bureau.

In addition to this radio station, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications will issue an administrative punishment on the 24th of this month to suspend the operation of eight simple radio stations owned by the company after being licensed.
