The spin-off promised by the Disney-Pixar franchise tells the man before the toy.

An adventure film in space more than a comedy which is being released in cinemas in France today and makes us regret Toy-Story a little.

Forget little boy Andy's room, with its blue wallpaper with white clouds, the scene of the adventures of the most famous toys in the world, Toy Story.

The plot of "Buzz Lightyear", in theaters this Wednesday, takes place in space, without children or toys.

It tells the story of the legendary Space Ranger who has since inspired the Buzz Lightyear toy.

The actor François Civil is at the helm of Buzz Lightyear's voice-over: "At first, we doubted embodying a character who had already been embodied. But I was reassured by telling me that the two characters, the toy and the man, were very different, it left me freedom to create".

Buzz Lightyear, an astronaut in the flesh, whose spaceship runs aground will do everything to save his crew.

With mathematical calculations and physics.

A very "Interstellar" side, as confirmed by François Civil: "I found that it was popularized and I find it super cool to teach this to children of such a young age".

"Sox", the mascot

We liked Buzz, a little silly and endearing from Toy Story, here he is a serious engineer involved in his mission.

But fortunately, we can count on Sox, Buzz's pet, a robotic cat, which embodies the Pixar spirit and asserts itself as the humorous guarantee of this new Pixar.

Sox is played by the mischievous Michael Gregorio.

And as in every Pixar, the lesson is in order: "It's a lot about solidarity, mutual aid, teamwork, and the evolution of the characters, who grow together. There is a lesson in humility , it's a lot about human relationships," says Lyna Khoudri, the voice of Buzz's sidekick, Izzy.

Good entertainment, but without all the inventiveness to which Pixar has accustomed us.
