The 3.5-hectare wooded area of ​​Kitaakitsu and Kamiyasumatsu districts in Tokorozawa is one of the places where director Hayao Miyazaki, who lives in the city, devised the concept of the movie "My Neighbor Totoro" while taking a walk. is.



The wooded area is close to the center of the city, and a land readjustment project is being carried out from the beginning, and the city decided to buy it for about 2.6 billion yen and conserve it as a green space.



The city has decided to raise a part of the land purchase cost widely by crowdfunding, and made a reproduction from 5 background pictures of "My Neighbor Totoro" provided by Studio Ghibli and set it with a wooden frame. It means that you will be asked to purchase one set for 25,000 yen.



If the city council approves a supplementary budget that includes the costs required to create 1000 sets of duplicates, the city will start crowdfunding in September.
