An argument between a large Egyptian bank and a news website about an employee’s seizure of 22 million pounds

The National Bank of Egypt issued a press statement, in response to what was published by "Cairo 24" about an employee who stole money from the bank from customer accounts and traveled outside Egypt.

In its statement, the bank said that there is safety in the safety of all its clients’ transactions, explaining that clients’ funds in banks are secured with a high degree of confidentiality, noting that the Central Bank of Egypt is a 100% guarantor of depositors’ funds.

For its part, "Cairo 24" website pledged to publish evidence and documents that prove the validity of what it published yesterday, about an employee working in the bank seizing 22 million pounds from the bank's clients' money, and traveling with it outside the country.

And "Cairo 24" had published the incident of theft of huge sums of money from the National Bank of Egypt, by one of the employees working in the bank, and his escape outside the country.

According to the information that the site said that it had obtained, one of the employees of the National Bank of Egypt took advantage of his position to know the accounts and data of customers and stole about 22 million pounds from customer balances, and was able to escape outside Egypt.
