[Explanation] On the vast Lingding Ocean, the longest sea-crossing bridge in the world stretches between the blue sea and the blue sky.

Starting from Hong Kong in the east and connecting with Zhuhai and Macau in Guangdong in the west, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge is like a ribbon, closely linking Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao under the "One Country, Two Systems" principle.

The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge is a large-scale transportation construction jointly built by Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.

The opening of the bridge will create many long-term economic benefits in the Greater Bay Area, including new opportunities for tourism, finance, trade and commerce.

Before the opening of the bridge, the time between Zhuhai and Hong Kong International Airport was about 4 hours, and now it only takes 45 minutes to pass the bridge.

The bridge can promote the interconnection of the three places, and is of strategic significance to the overall development of Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area.

[Explanation] One bridge connects three places, and the moat becomes a thoroughfare.

As an important part of this super sea crossing, the Hong Kong section of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge consists of the Hong Kong Port at the eastern end and the 12-kilometer Hong Kong Link connecting the main body of the bridge to the west.

Since the official start of construction at the end of 2011, the whole line was completed in May 2017. The construction of the past six years embodies the "Hong Kong Plan" and "Hong Kong Wisdom".

[Explanation] The Hong Kong Port is located on an artificial island with a total area of about 150 hectares in the northeast sea of the Hong Kong International Airport. It provides immigration inspection services for passengers and goods entering and leaving Hong Kong via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge.

Since it is adjacent to Hong Kong International Airport, the height restrictions must be strictly observed during construction, and the take-off and landing of nearby flights cannot be interfered with. Therefore, during the installation of the canopy of the Hong Kong Port Passenger Inspection Building, the traditional lifting method is not applicable.

After research and judgment, the team innovatively adopted the assembly and synthesis method to complete the construction.

In the end, the wavy sky curtain and the natural landscape of the artificial island surrounded by the sea have also become a major design highlight of the passenger inspection building.

This is the canopy of the (travel inspection) building. You can see some tree-shaped pillars, which increases the sense of space in the entire lobby.

In addition, you can see that many accessories are completed in the prefabrication factory, so the whole construction process is accelerated and the quality is improved.

[Explanation] From the Hong Kong Port all the way to the west, the 12-kilometer Hong Kong line extends westward from the artificial island to the border between Guangdong and Hong Kong.

As the main bridge of the bridge is located in the mainland waters, according to the mainland law, "keep on the right" is adopted, which is different from the usual "keep on the left" in Hong Kong. Therefore, the traffic arrangement of the connecting line in Hong Kong is also unique.

We have taken this detail into consideration when designing.

Follow the Mainland on the Hong Kong Link Road and adopt a "keep right" arrangement.

Therefore, when driving from the main bridge to Hong Kong, you only need to keep the driving habit of "keep right". After arriving at the artificial island of Hong Kong Port via the Hong Kong Link Road, and then follow the directions of the road signs, you will enter the vehicle clearance plaza, and at the same time smoothly Connect to the "keep left" arrangement.

[Explanation] As the first super-large cross-border transportation infrastructure jointly built and managed by Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao under the "one country, two systems" principle, the construction of the Hong Kong section of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge reflects the designer's wisdom everywhere.

In order to properly maintain the bridge and promptly deal with incidents on the bridge, the bridge has "U-turn facilities" at two locations close to the boundary between Guangdong and Hong Kong.

Vehicles from the two governments can perform work on the bridge and use the U-turn facility to return to the two places.

This is the Hong Kong Link Road, in fact, this section is the viaduct section.

There is a U-turn facility here that is convenient for vehicles to perform maintenance work on the bridge, or after rescue work, this U-turn facility can be used to make a U-turn on the bridge.

[Explanation] Starting from the Zhuhai connecting line, there are 4 tunnels, 4 artificial islands, and bridges that stretch for more than 40 kilometers. From a bird's eye view, it is like connecting the pearls scattered in the sea with a silver thread, which not only reflects China's The beautiful meaning of perfect combination in traditional culture also symbolizes the close connection between Hong Kong and Macau and mainland China across Lingdingyang.

The opening of the bridge will help Hong Kong integrate into the "One Hour Life Circle" of the Greater Bay Area and promote the interconnection of cities in the Greater Bay Area.

As the epidemic eases, it is believed that economic activities in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau will gradually pick up.

[Explanation] Huang Jianbo, chief government engineer of the Highways Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, has been engaged in the construction industry in Hong Kong for many years. He personally participated in the construction of the Hong Kong section of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, and has also witnessed the increasingly perfect and mature cross-border infrastructure of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region since its return to China 25 years ago. It is through bridges and roads that the two places' society, economy, trade, and culture communicate with each other and get closer.

When Hong Kong was handed over in 1997, there were only four land crossings at Lo Wu, Lok Ma Chau, Man Kam To and Sha Tau Kok.

After the handover, the Hong Kong government has completed a number of cross-border infrastructure projects, including the Shenzhen Bay Bridge and the Lok Ma Chau Spur Line opened in 2007, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and the Hong Kong Section of the High Speed Rail opened in 2018, and the Xiang Yuen Wai Highway opened in 2019. .

In addition, the Hong Kong government announced the "Northern Metropolitan Area Development Strategy" last year, which also proposed some new cross-border railway projects, which will help Hong Kong better integrate into the overall development of the country.
