Some people say it looks like an official hat, and some people say it looks like a flower bottle. You think it exudes an atmosphere of ancient Chinese visual art culture.

This building must be a modern building, and it must not be similar to the Forbidden City in Beijing.

But there is some temperament, there are some abstract elements that are the same.

It is a very graceful bearing and very delicate craftsmanship.

[Explanation] Graceful, elegant, refined and elegant, a building with both Eastern and Western cultures, a blend of tradition and modernity, is located in the west of Kowloon and by the Victoria Harbour.

After five years of construction, the Hong Kong Palace Museum will officially open to the public in July this year, and will become another new cultural landmark in Hong Kong.

A few days ago, the chief designer of the museum and the person in charge of the architectural project accepted an exclusive interview with a reporter from China News Agency to reveal the unique ingenuity.

[Explanation] According to reports, the Hong Kong Palace Museum cited the concept of the central axis of the Forbidden City, and combined with the modern urban architectural style of Hong Kong's upward development, the central axis was extended upwards, leading visitors to visit upwards.

The museum has three atriums on the ground, second and fourth floors facing the West Kowloon Cultural District, Victoria Harbour and Lantau Island respectively. Visitors can walk into them and change the scenery as they move, so they can enjoy the beauty of Hong Kong in multiple directions.

Whether it is the golden ceiling designed with the glazed tiles on the roof of the Forbidden City in the atrium of the ground lobby, or the neatly arranged glass door nails on the red front gate, all of them contain a unique modern style in the tradition, which makes the whole museum glow with time and space. , showing vitality.

This gate is actually very characteristic of the Forbidden City. It is composed of five doors and ten doors. As you can see above, there are 810 glass nails in total, which are also made with reference to some practices of the Forbidden City.

In fact, there is a Jinshui River in the platform square in front of me. The design is also very distinctive, but it is made of this glass canopy. It is not a real water or river, but its curve and shape It is consistent with the Golden Water River.

For example, the door nails of our gates are traditionally made of metal nails, but we actually use glass. What is the purpose?

I just hope that after the door is closed, the museum is closed at night, and there are still lights inside.

This light can then slowly seep through the glass tiles.

It gives the impression that although the museum is closed, it continues to have vitality.

We are careful to absorb the sunlight on the exterior walls of the building. The sunlight from different angles is different, and we hope to achieve many different visual effects.

For example, when the sun shines on it from a low angle, its surface will show a very soft color.

If the sun hits it from a high angle, there will be a little sparkle effect.

[Explanation] The exterior design of the Hong Kong Palace Museum draws on the aesthetic characteristics of "the upper part is wide and the lower part gathers, the top is empty and the bottom is solid" in the design of traditional Chinese utensils, and it is supplemented by modern architectural techniques and emerging building materials to reflect its architectural characteristics.

Because the building is to be linked at the same time.

We are building a building today to display the culture of the Forbidden City, and this building itself needs to be a modern museum.

The so-called modernization is to be suitable for the current urban mechanism and urban environment, and the most advanced technology and the most modern material technology should be used.

Especially in this stage of drawing design, we also used this technology of Building Information Modeling in the whole process to solve a large number of collision problems.

In the process of drawing processing and production, this BIM technology and some other 3D drawing software are also used.

It is a structure of "upper width gathers lower, the top is empty and the bottom is solid".

The outer wall on the outside is also the most distinctive golden aluminum plate. It is composed of 4022 pieces of curved aluminum plates with holes. The size, size, and degree of bending of each aluminum plate are different. The same, all are unique.

The precision required for each step of installation is extremely high, and the error of the aluminum plate after installation and forming should be controlled within 3 mm.

[Explanation] During the construction process, the engineering team used the smart construction site system to greatly improve the construction efficiency and accuracy, and designed a series of complex and sophisticated systems to accurately control the temperature and humidity in the field to ensure the cultural relics exhibition. Environmental and fire safety, while enhancing the visitor experience.

We have this air-conditioning equipment and system with constant temperature and humidity.

In addition, the system and equipment of our fire protection and some of our sound insulation requirements are very, very high.

Almost some systems of the highest level of fire protection in Hong Kong are adopted here.

There are different systems in different locations. We use a large amount of inert gas to extinguish the fire in the storage room where the exhibits are mainly placed. It is also in this situation that once a fire occurs, the cultural relics get the best protection of.

[Commentary] After the opening of the Hong Kong Palace Museum, precious exhibits including "national treasures" cultural relics from the Palace Museum will be here to meet with Hong Kong and global audiences, and this building with both Hong Kong ingenuity and Hong Kong wisdom will also be in the future. It has become an indelible stroke on the Hong Kong cultural scroll.
