China News Service, Yinchuan, June 18th: Young people's official entry into the "fishing circle" fishing is like "opening the blind box"

Sitting quietly on the shore, letting go of your troubles, listening to the murmur of the flowing water, watching the green trees, "one scorpion, one boat, one inch of silk and one inch of hook", the tranquility from the heart and the feeling of being "out of the world" are attracting more and more young people.

Today, fishing, a healthy leisure and entertainment activity, is gradually becoming younger.

In Yinchuan, Ningxia, no matter on the banks of the Yellow River or the lake, no matter it is summer or winter, there are many citizens fishing, including young people.

On June 18, reporters approached these young anglers and listened to their voices.

At the Peony Garden Leisure Fishing Base in Jingui Town, Helan County, Yinchuan City, there is a fisherman sitting by the pond every one or two meters.

Mr. Zhang, a post-90s citizen who is fishing, told reporters that since he fell in love with the sport five years ago, he has gone fishing almost every week.

There are all kinds of fishing equipment around Mr. Zhang. There are four fishing rods, bait, bait grinder, scissors and other utensils.

Mr. Zhang said that the reason for his fascination with fishing is simple: "The pressure brought by the daily stressful work needs to find a way to vent, and fishing is undoubtedly the best way."

There are not a few young people who have the same idea as Mr. Zhang.

The high intensity of daily work and life rhythm makes more young people eager to enjoy a slow life in their spare time.

Fishing, which was once regarded as a sport exclusively for middle-aged and elderly groups, has gradually emerged among the post-90s and even post-00s.

According to incomplete statistics from the China Fishing Association, there are currently about 140 million fishing people in China (who participate in at least 4 fishing activities every year). Among them, young and middle-aged people between the ages of 25 and 44 have become the main force of fishing, accounting for 46% and 24 years old. The following fishing enthusiasts accounted for 22%, while the "uncle group" group of "former kings" over the age of 45 accounted for only 32%.

A number of fishing players told reporters in an interview that the fish ponds that were once slightly empty are now crowded with young players.

"It is not surprising that fishing can 'break the circle' among young people. Fishing as a leisure sport can relieve young people's inner anxiety caused by work pressure." "In a natural environment far away from the city, I enjoy fishing with a few friends. Fun can be regarded as the happiness of 'stealing a half-day leisure'."

In contrast, the post-80s, post-90s and post-00s who are engaged in fishing-related creations on video platforms have also become the main force. According to the big data of Kuaishou short video, they account for 32.12%, 26.59%, and 14.48% respectively, while Post-70s and post-60s are only 13.05% and 3.54%.

Although there is a situation where the Internet skills of post-70s and 60s fishermen are not high, in fact, it also makes the mainstream fishing circle more concentrated in the hands of relatively younger fishermen.

There are more and more young fishermen, and equipment is naturally indispensable.

"The money spent on fishing every year has to be tens of thousands of yuan," said Mr. Zhang.

The biggest difference between "fishermen" in the new era and middle-aged and elderly fishing enthusiasts is that they are more willing to spend money to create a "professional sense".

For young people, fishing does not have to be disgraced and stick to the rules, the equipment can be selected, and it can be full of personalization, technology, and even move closer to the holiday wind.

Nowadays, in order to meet the needs of young fishermen, many merchants have launched "one-stop fishing combination", as well as "lazy artifact" full of technology such as automatic bait feeder and fish finder.

Obviously, the younger generation has gone farther and farther on the fishing road.

According to Mr. Zhang, what excites him even more is that when the fish bites the hook and jumps out of the water, in addition to a deep sense of satisfaction, there is also the joy of opening the blind box. Before, you didn't know if you could catch a fish, and even if you did, you didn't know what it was. This sense of unknown also added to the joy of fishing." (End)
