Egypt: The establishment of the first association to defend men's rights!

The Directorate of Social Affairs in Giza, Egypt, agreed to establish the first association to defend the rights of men in family law, as the association was announced as the Egyptian Association for the Defense of the Rights of Men and Children in the Egyptian Family Law.

Ahmed Matar Rizk, lawyer and chairman of the association's board of directors, said that the message that the association seeks is mainly to defend the entity of the Egyptian family, and to resist the steady increase in divorce cases.

He revealed that the association’s role extends beyond the occurrence of divorce between spouses to the use of the legal rights of the man in the law and resistance to the provisions of imprisonment and abuse, especially if the divorce is the desire and request of the wife, referring to the rights of children in the event of divorce, so that neither party to the relationship ends with children and deprives the other party of Participate in their upbringing.

Rizk added that the current law focused on women's rights at the expense of children and men, giving divorced women rights over men, but no rights in return.

He stated that all that the association seeks is to first preserve the entity of the Egyptian family as the nucleus of society, and secondly to find a real balance in rights and duties in case of separation while preserving the rights of the child and his father.

For his part, Sayed Abdel Bari, vice-chairman of the association's board of directors, told the Egyptian newspaper, Al-Wafd, that the association's goal is to change for the better, create a state of family balance and improve the social structure.

He added on the sidelines of the association's first meeting, that the next plan of the association, besides the large numbers joining it, will include other numbers, because the goal is the general interest of the family.

The Vice Chairman of the Society's Board of Directors welcomed the alliance with other organizations as long as we follow the same approach, which is to preserve the family and social structure.

The association held its first meeting on Thursday at its headquarters in the Tersa area of ​​the Haram in Giza Governorate, and was attended by the founders men and women.
