[Explanation] The recent weather can be described as "water and fire", with continuous rain in the south and high temperatures in the north.

How long will the heavy rainfall in the south continue?

When will the high temperature in the north ease?

Fang Chong, chief forecaster of the Central Meteorological Observatory, said that the heavy rainfall in the south will continue until June 21.

Heavy rainfall in the south will continue until the 21st, mainly affecting Guangdong, Guangxi, Fujian, Jiangxi and southern Hunan. From the 19th to the 21st, it may also affect southern Anhui, Zhejiang and southern Jiangsu.

The main reason is that the southern region is currently maintained at the edge of the (subtropical high) stably, a large amount of warm and humid air is transported from the Bay of Bengal and the South China Sea to the southern region, forming some shear lines in the lower layers, and this continuous heavy rainfall is formed in the south .

[Explanation] Since May, there has been continuous rainfall in many places in the south, not only the number of rainy days, but also the amazing rainfall. The average rainfall in the local area ranks among the top in the history of the same period.

From May 1 to June 14, there were six consecutive heavy rainfall processes in South China, Jiangnan and other places, especially in most of South China, Jiangnan and Guizhou and eastern Yunnan, the rainfall was generally 30 to 70%.

The regional average precipitation of Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi and other three provinces and regions reached 572 mm, which is the third highest in the same period since 1961, only slightly behind the 2006 and 1975 years.

[Explanation] While the south continues to "splash water", the largest and strongest high temperature in the north this year also kicked off.

We expect that the high temperature range will continue to expand in the next 5 days (June 17-21), including the eastern part of Northwest China, the central and southern parts of North China, and Huanghuai. Locally it will reach above 40°C.

[Explanation] Regarding the sudden high temperature, some netizens ridiculed: Henan fever has become "Kenan". Fang Chong said that the core areas of this high temperature weather are southern Hebei, Henan, Shandong and other places.

The core areas of high temperature weather in the northern region this time are southern Hebei, Henan, and Shandong, and the local area may break through the historical statistical extremes in mid-to-late June.

For example, in Zhengzhou, the highest temperature in mid-June in history was 42.3°C, and it has reached above 40°C for 7 years, so it is expected to exceed 40°C this time.

[Explanation] According to the forecast of the Central Meteorological Observatory, around June 23, there will be precipitation in Henan and Shandong, which will play a certain role in alleviating the local meteorological drought. At that time, the maximum temperature may drop to about 30 ℃.
