China News Service, Hangzhou, June 17th (Qian Chenfei and Huang Huiyuan) "As a mother of three children born in the 1970s, I completed another challenge today. The children all support my donation, and I want to be their role model. On the 17th, after more than 4 hours of collection, Hangzhou citizen Xu Hui successfully donated 167 ml of hematopoietic stem cell suspension, becoming the 239th hematopoietic stem cell donor in Hangzhou and the 791st hematopoietic stem cell donor in Zhejiang Province.

Xu Hui is an unpaid blood donation volunteer with more than ten blood donation records.

In 2017, when she donated blood for free, she learned that she could save 8 ml of blood samples to join the China Marrow Bank, so she decided to put it in the bank, hoping to bring hope to patients.

In January 2022, Xu Hui received a notice from the Red Cross Society of Binjiang District, Hangzhou City, informing her that the information of the blood sample in the bank was successfully matched with a patient with blood disease, and asked if she was willing to donate.

Xu Hui didn't hesitate, her only concern was her age.

The staff explained to her that the donation age is 55 years old, and the maximum age of volunteers who have donated in Zhejiang Province is 54 years old.

Xu Hui readily agreed to donate, she was full of confidence in her physical condition.

Subsequently, Xu Hui successfully passed the high-resolution matching and pre-donation physical examination.

"I really won the jackpot, I'm so lucky." Xu Hui said when confirming that she could donate.

Capable and cheerful, she works in corporate human resources and has three children at home.

Although work and life are very busy, she is well organized.

"The three children are sensible and independent, and they are very supportive when they know that I am going to donate hematopoietic stem cells. They promise to take care of themselves and let me do good deeds with confidence." Xu Hui said, "I can do my best to help others and save lives. It is a happy thing. I want to use my personal experience to promote hematopoietic stem cell donation, so that more people can understand hematopoietic stem cell donation and help more people.” (End)
