["Inquiry" Internet Hospital ①] Is the "on your fingertips" hospital used?

  Editor's note

As an important application result of "Internet +", Internet hospitals have the convenience that physical hospitals cannot compare, and users can complete medical dispensing without leaving home.

After the outbreak of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, the advantages of Internet hospitals have been further demonstrated, and the number of patients has also increased significantly.

Recently, reporters from "Workers Daily" conducted interviews in Beijing, Liaoning, Guangdong and other places and found that, on the one hand, some Internet hospitals do provide a lot of convenience for the masses to seek medical treatment and medicine, but on the other hand, there are also many Internet hospitals in the operation. "Clogging points", such as medical insurance payment is not yet popularized, doctors are not very enthusiastic about online consultation, data is not interoperable between Internet hospitals, and personal information security issues are worrying.

How to clear the "blocking points" of Internet medical treatment, so that Internet hospitals can truly become a good helper for protecting the health of the masses?

From today onwards, this edition will launch a series of reports ""Inquiry" Internet Hospital", please pay attention to readers.

"Finally solved the urgent need of 'disconnecting medicines'!" Recently, Ms. Chen, who lives in Chaoyang District, Beijing, received the urgently needed medicines delivered by the hospital through the online follow-up of Peking University Third Hospital Internet Hospital.

Since the outbreak of the new crown pneumonia, offline consultation has become difficult, and many hospitals have reduced diagnosis and treatment services.

The reporter of "Worker's Daily" found that Internet hospitals have provided solutions for alleviating the problem of consultation under the epidemic.

In the past two years, Internet hospitals in various places have continued to expand online medical service projects, providing patients with services such as appointment registration, specialist consultation, online follow-up visits, online prescription refills, and drug delivery, which greatly facilitates the masses to seek medical treatment and medicine, while reducing the number of people. Due to the risk of cross-infection caused by aggregation, more and more patients are seeking medical consultation through Internet hospitals.

Relieve anxiety about medical treatment during the epidemic

In April this year, Ms. Chen, a patient with hyperthyroidism, needed to go to the hospital for a follow-up visit to prescribe medicine. However, because the community where she lived was classified as a temporary control area and could not go out, she felt anxious for a while.

In a panic, Ms. Chen remembered that when she went to see a doctor, the doctor in charge had introduced that the Internet hospital had a follow-up function, and she downloaded the "Beijing Third Hospital" APP with a trial attitude.

Following the guidelines on the APP page, Ms. Chen successfully found her attending doctor and quickly completed the follow-up consultation.

"From the perspective of patients, using Internet hospitals can indeed save a lot of time, and patients can receive medicines without leaving their homes. For hospitals, online diagnosis and treatment reduces the risk of nosocomial epidemics, reduces the waste of medical resources, and increases the The supply of medical services." said Xu Xuedong, director of the medical department of the Third Hospital of Beijing University and director of the Internet Office.

In Xu Xuedong's view, Internet hospitals can also help patients obtain higher-quality offline medical services. For example, patients can make pre-consultation in Internet hospitals, accurately determine the department to be treated, and reduce the time for queuing and registering in and out of various departments.

Recently, a problem plaguing Shenyang citizen Ma Xiao was finally resolved.

It turned out that since the beginning of April, Ma Xiao's body temperature has been 36.8~37.2 degrees Celsius for a week.

Because of the intersection of time and space with the confirmed cases of new coronary pneumonia, during the home isolation period, although the nucleic acid test was negative for 5 consecutive days, she was still a little worried.

With the help of his daughter, 62-year-old Ma Xiao consulted Dr. Bai Xiaohong in the fever clinic for free through the Internet Hospital of the Affiliated Hospital of Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and learned that "a body temperature below 37.3 degrees Celsius is not considered a fever, and it belongs to the normal temperature range." 's doubts were resolved, and it only took a few minutes before and after.

In order to meet the medical needs of more patients during the epidemic, the Internet Hospital of the Third Hospital of Peking University has recently added services such as free pharmacy consultation, nursing consultation, and self-service appointment examinations.

For example, in response to the needs of special groups such as tumor patients, cardiovascular disease patients, and newborns under the background of epidemic prevention and control, the professional nursing team provides free consultation and rehabilitation guidance services.

Internet hospital business has grown significantly

"After the attending doctor prescribes the prescription, the pharmacist reviews the prescription and dispenses the drug, and then checks, packs, and packs it together with the specialized logistics and distribution personnel, and then delivers it to the logistics company." Ms. Chen told reporters that this time she stayed at home. Diagnosis and treatment made her realize the convenience of an Internet hospital.

Since its launch in February 2018, the APP of the Third Hospital of Beijing Medical University has experienced rapid growth in registrations. As of the end of April this year, there were nearly 926,000 registered users.

Xu Xuedong said that from January to April this year, the volume of online follow-up consultations in the Internet Hospital of the Third Hospital of Peking University increased by 244.12% year-on-year.

The reporter interviewed a number of Internet hospital platforms, online doctors and patients in Liaoning and found that the construction of Internet hospitals is progressing in an orderly manner.

Among them, the Internet Hospital of the Affiliated Hospital of Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine includes nearly 100 doctors from more than 10 departments including internal medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, and rehabilitation centers to participate in the operation of the Internet hospital.

According to reports, as of April 20, only 5 chief physicians in the fever clinic of the Internet Hospital of the Affiliated Hospital of Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine have received and completed 13,000 consultations.

According to data from the National Health and Medical Commission, as of the first half of 2021, more than 1,600 Internet hospitals have been set up and approved across the country.

The "2021 China Internet Hospital Development Report" shows that general hospitals have become the main body of Internet hospitals, accounting for nearly 70%.

The reporter visited Shenzhen and learned that in March this year, the Internet Hospital of Peking University Shenzhen Hospital received more than 5,000 patients per month, and sent more than 200 orders of medicines per day, alleviating the pressure of offline diagnosis and treatment.

In addition to public hospitals, qualified third-party institutions can also build Internet information platforms to provide services such as telemedicine, health consultation, and health management.

Hu Yanan, general manager of the JD Health Internet Medical Department, said that the JD Health Internet Hospital has covered more than 15,000 hospitals, with more than 45,000 doctors with the title of deputy chief physician and above.

"In 2021, the average daily online consultation volume of JD Health Internet Hospital will exceed 190,000, a year-on-year increase of 90% compared to 2020."

There are still many blocking points to be cleared

In an interview, Li Yaqin, the attending physician of the Department of Infectious Diseases of Peking University Shenzhen Hospital, said that online consultation in Internet hospitals is an effective supplement to offline diagnosis and treatment. effect.

"The biggest feature of Internet hospitals in public hospitals is that they can realize the integration of online and offline diagnosis and treatment services." Xu Xuedong said that patients' health management and medical services form a closed loop, online and offline complement each other, and treatment is continuous.

At the same time, Internet hospitals of public hospitals also have strict access mechanisms and complete quality control mechanisms for pharmacy and medical records.

Hu Yanan pointed out that enterprises with Internet, technology and other related backgrounds and capabilities can take advantage of technology, operation, supply chain and other advantages to improve the efficiency of diagnosis and treatment.

Taking JD Health Internet Hospital as an example, relying on JD Health's pharmaceutical supply chain, medicines can be delivered faster, and 80% of self-operated medicine orders can be delivered the next day.

It is undeniable that the number of Internet hospitals has risen sharply in the past two years, which has provided convenience for public diagnosis and treatment. Especially during the epidemic, it has solved the problem of people seeking medical treatment and medicine in closed (controlled) areas to a certain extent.

However, there are still some "blocking points" in the operation of Internet hospitals. According to the "2021 China Internet Hospital Development Report", more than 90% of Internet hospitals are under construction and are not needed or are only being tried.

During the investigation, the reporter also learned that many Internet hospitals have problems such as the lack of popularization of medical insurance payment, the low enthusiasm of doctors for online consultation, the lack of data exchange between Internet hospitals, and the risk of personal information security.

How to truly achieve more data travel and less patient travel, so as to solve the problem of medical treatment for more people?

Internet hospitals should reflect on "blocking points" and strive to play a greater role on the existing basis.
